Arran Quay Gallery Back

In the Autumn of 1995 a number of Dublin artists came together to launch the cities first derelict-space exhibition. In association with "Smithfield Housing Action Group", 42 Arran Quay was occupied and refurbished to display the techno tribal art of Alan Holland and the charming child's eye murals of Pia Luck. A number of audio-visual events were subsequently organized which brought some of the cities finest expressive talents into a common arena untainted by crass commercial or corporate agendas ( i.e. no rent no bouncers). These happenings were characterized by an audience-active atmosphere which demanded wakeful, involved responses from our visitors and resulted in a mutual empowerment The next logical step for us was the formation of Space Craft.
